Romanian Prime Minister returns to Bucharest

Romanian Prime Minister Victor Ponta reappeared in Bucharest on Wednesday after an absence of nearly one month that has raised questions about his political future and the stability of the government.
Ponta checked into a hospital in Turkey in mid-June for knee surgery.
After his return to Bucharest, Ponta officially requested the Romanian President, Klaus Iohannis, to operate, according to the law, his recommencing his governmental activity.
During his time away, Gabriel Oprea, head of Ponta’s UNPR junior coalition party, has acted as interim prime minister.
