Police commissioner Raluca Domuţa is the first Romanian policewoman to receive the title „International Female Police Peacekeeper 2015”, which rewarded her for the special contribution to the UN mission in Haiti.
Domuţa was greatly appreciated for her involvement in the international efforts to seek and rescue hundreds of people after the 2010 earthquake, as well as for the protection provided to the doctors who were combatting cholera in the wake of the disaster that struck the island five years ago.
International organisations consider that the Romanian’s rich experience is instrumental in supporting the peace and stabilisation process in Haiti.
