The document shows that human trafficking brings anually illicit revenues of 150 billion dollars, of which 99 only in sex industry. Among the countries accused that do not take sufficient measures against this form of „modern slavery” there are: Thailand, Russia Lybia or Bulgaria. Instead, countries such as Cuba, Kenya and Saudi Arabia are praised. Regarding Romania, the report shows that it is a source, a transit country and a destination for human trafficking. Men, women and children are forced to beg and steal, both in Romania and in other countries, notes the report, which adds that, while making significant efforts to eliminate this phenomenon, Bucharest does not comply with certain minimum standards in the field and court rulings in such cases that reach courts are too mild to deter traffickers.
